Last week we introduced "Unification of Opposites". In yoga, we can find many attributes that are opposite and those opposites can provide great stability and a greater whole. For example, we reach down into the earth to be able to push up or stand tall. We have a front and a back, rotation this way and a counter-rotation the other way for greater torque and stability. This leads nicely into Action and Resistance which is an extension of this concept. We use our own body and its muscles to provide the pull and the push; to provide the resistance against which we move our muscles. This gives us an added depth to our yoga practice. Come to your mat and let's explore how the two relate!
