Yesterday we did the "Best Things to Do in Del Rio, Tx...Amistad National Recreation Area, El Fillippi Springs Park, Rudy's BBQ....
So what's left for today? The bottom of the barrel is what we tried to do today!
I did have a successful trip to Walmart to get a mouse and tonic water. That was exciting. (See what I mean by scrapping the bottom of the barrel?)
First on the list was a visit to the Historic Pecan Farm on the outskirts of town. Upon arrival we saw a brand new big house sitting on the site of the "Historic" building. The Gate was closed. No cars and no people. We turned around and went to the next stop
GARAGE SALE --unplanned stop. I gave them the mini fridge to put in their sale and Joanne tried to talk me into planning games back at the hotel. She bought 3-4 games with high hopes.
Second on the list was the Val Verde Winery...we drove through the old historic town of Del Rio to get there and we then drove past a large field of neatly lined bare grape vines. Doors closed. No cars and no people.
Next stop was the Rotary Park...from the parking lot it looked pretty bleak but we walked over to the line of trees in the distance and found a charming clear stream...Maddie ran right into it without stopping and was slightly surprised that it was wet. Silly girl---never seen a stream before and didn't know how to act. At least there was something to take pictures of.
Now I have to go and do a chair yoga practice to get it recorded for next week.
