They have a beautiful home sitting on an Arnold Palmer golf coarse looking out at the mountains--the distant ones snow capped. The skies are crystal blue and the sun is a warm yellow with the temp 72 during the day and cooler at night! PERFECT!! Mark drove me to see the sights, the cute little Old Downtown, the big tennis stadium, his son's cute house closeby and the general lay of the land. We actually stopped at the La Quinta Resort where the last Bachelor was shot. I didn't watch that show but I know some of my friends saw it so I took a bunch of pictures for them. It's a beautiful old property and the flowers are stunning.
Mark grilled delicious steaks on the grill one night, we went to their club house for fabulous sushi and roasted brussel sprouts (with dates, feta and a fig balsamic reduction--I'm going to try it at home!), and last night Christine and I made Cheesey Cauliflower Rice and Chicken so she could learn a good 'casserole" to take to people for gatherings or illnesses. It was fun cooking together.
Today I am packed up and ready to head off for Joshua Tree National Park. There will be no wifi and no electricity so more when I get to Shal in Irvine
